10 weeks...
So, this week, I went in for my 10 week check up...(same check up I found out there was no heart beat on #6 round 1). I was confident everything would be fine.... I had just been in a week earlier and saw a healthy baby... with a healthy heart beat.
This time, the ultrasound showed a healthy heart beat, and that the baby was measuring perfectly.....BUT it ALSO showed that the amniotic sac was detaching from the uterine wall on both sides. There were no signs of detachment on my ultrasound last week...and the current detachment is significant.
The doctor told me that he sees some form of detachment occur on 30% of pregnancies. Some of them reattach and heal themselves, and a healthy baby is born. Other times, the sac continues to detach...which would inevitably result in a loss.
He put me on a moderate bed rest for a minimum of 8 weeks as to not exacerbate the detachment....at which point I will get checked again... and he will re-assess the situation.
I allowed myself a good long cry the whole drive home.
My parents (who enter the MTC this weekend as missionaries...GO MOM AND DAD!), 7 siblings, their spouses, and my 32 nieces and nephews, my husband, and children are holding a special family fast for me tomorrow...if that isn't enough power to bring on a miracle, I don't know what is. I am thankful to have such a loving supportive family.
I received blessings both at the beginning of this pregnancy... and after the appointment... that have brought me much hope. I feel total peace. Regardless of the outcome, I have faith that God will see me through this bump in the road...the same as He has with every other trial I have encountered along the way.
